Alternative Health Medicine and NIS

Alternative Health Medicine and NIS

Most people think that you need to have a problem to have an NIS treatment (acupuncture, chinese medicine protocols), but NIS treatments allow the brain to stay on board immunologically, chemically, emotionally and neurologically.  I attribute my health to healthy eating and my brain functioning at capacity with my daily activity and recovery.

Treatments routinely help my brain and body can stay strong, healthy and fit.  I handle stress more easily.  My energy is strong and consistent throughout the day.  I am able to accomplish a lot in a day.

Reflexology

reflexology, vancouver

Reflexology is an ancient healing technique that has been practiced for many centuries. The first evidence of reflexology was on wall paintings from the ancient Egyptians, which portrayed people receiving foot massages; the Chinese have also used reflexology for many centuries in conjunction with Acupuncture.

Reflexology works on the reflexes of the feet, hands or ears. These areas in particular have a relationship with our entire body, and by massaging the reflexes; the body experiences deep relaxation. Reflexology can also release toxins, allowing the body to heal itself. People who have had treatments notice a feeling of complete relaxation and well-being for several days following their treatment.

Where is the "Health" Care?

Where is the "Health" Care?

Who knows about your health today? You go for a check up or go into for health issues and they give your a solution... or do they? Is there too much information for the health care professional to keep up with? or is there a need to have too many patients rolling through the clinic? Point in hand, I went in with my son the other day to check out a reaction he had on his face... Doctor "here is a prescription for some cream", "what is it we asked?", excema - repleied the doctor. We to get the cream and started reading up on the product before applying (good for us eh?) what a length of possible side effects!!!

Balancing Diabetes with Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

Diabetes Mellitus is defined as hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) resulting from a relative or absolute lack of insulin production by the body.  Diabetes has been described as a pandemic affecting developing countries worldwide. Obesity is affecting children through poor food choices and inactivity. The BC and Ontario governments are eliminating pop and chips from vending machines in elementary schools. Healthier food choices and exercise are needed to prevent any of the potential complications from diabetes.

The clinical manifestations of diabetes are:

• frequent, copious urination
• excessive thirst
• rapid weight loss
• excessive hunger
• fatigue
• visual disturbances
• skin infections
• slow healing
• tingling of the hands and feet

Potential complications include:

• heart disease
• blindness
• kidney disease
• nerve damage
